New York Mets Draft Brampton's Zachary Fascia


Congratulations to Brampton Royals Alumni, Zachary Fascia who was selected by the New York Mets, in the 37th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft. Fascia becomes the first player to be drafted from the Elite Baseball League of Ontario, in which he played from 2015-2016.

Zachary played for Indian Hills Community College 2017-2018 and following a freshman campaign in which he batted .277 for the Falcons, he improved considerably as a sophomore. He led IHCC in batting average with his .364 mark, slugged 18 doubles and five homers and drove in 48 runs. The lefty hitter was Indian Hills' regular catcher and also pitched in 13 games, compiling a 3.00 ERA with nine saves. He was a second-team All-Region pick in 2017 and in 2018 moved up to the first team. He was also named the Region XI Defensive Player of the Year both years.
