The Elite Baseball League of Ontario has teamed up with Prep Baseball Report for the 2016 Showcase Tournament", which will be held from May 27-29, 2016. Prep Baseball Report is Ontario's leading resource for high school baseball. PBR covers a variety of events, with a scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms.
As a part of 2016 EBLO Tournament, PBR will have a specific section of their site devoted for the tournament. In particular, there will be a roster section for college coaches to view detailed information on the teams participating in the tournament.
During the tournament, PBR will have staff members watching games at all different age levels. Updates will be provided via Twitter and through the PBR Scout Blog during the tournament, as well as game recaps.
Elite Baseball League of Ontario 2016 Showcase Tournament
It was a big weekend for baseball in the GTA on May 27-29, 2016, as the Elite Baseball League of Ontario hosted its 2nd annual showcase tournament. This year featured 3 divisions, 18u with hosts from Brampton, Etobicoke, Mississauga and Toronto. The 16u and 15u divisions were hosted by Oshawa, Pickering and Ajax. In the 18u division, 18 teams competed through a round robin format. Etobicoke Rangers in the 18u division swept the tournament with a 6-0 record beating the Brampton Royals 10-2 in the finals. The 16u division featured 14 teams, with the Brampton Royals winning 8-5 over the Toronto Cardinals in a very close and competitive game. The 15u division comprised of 16 teams, the champions, Mississauga North tigers beat Oshawa 12-2.
